ACM updates its Constitution
At the Extraordinary Convocation held 2 October 2024 it was unanimously agreed to adopt the revised 2024 Constitution. This update was for four reasons:
1 … to make our Constitution appropriate for a successful application to become a Charity
2 … to comply with the Government requirement for all Incorporated Societies to revise their Constitutions according to new guidelines by April 2026.
3 … to add a new Associate Membership (in addition to Affiliates and Individuals). Groups or Churches can now Associate with ACM by majority vote of their Governing Body or Vestry assenting to the ACM Covenant. Associates have entitlement to representation at Convocation but do NOT have the protection that Affiliate parishes have (where those licensed in Affiliate parishes are required to be members of ACM or subscribe to the beliefs and discipline of ACM).
4 … to formally include provision for Standing Resolutions (which are motions that have affect for more than a year).
None of these revisions alter the beliefs or purpose of ACM.
